    Seinfeld Slot Machine

When it comes to successful and critically-acclaimed sitcoms, there are few shows that enjoy the widespread popular that Seinfeld has to this day. Airing from 1989 through 1998, the show starred comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who played a fictionalized version of himself living in New York City. Characters like George Costanza, Cosmo Kramer, and Elaine Benes have become household names, and not only does the program regularly rank highly on lists of the best shows of all time, many of the most famous moments from the series are widely recognized even by people who never watched an episode.

All of this is to say that the series was a natural target for slot machine manufacturers, and it was only a matter of time before it showed up in casinos. That day arrived when Scientific Games and WMS unveiled their Seinfeld slot machine at G2E 2017. Featuring clips, characters, and references to the show, along with some very innovative technology, this machine has everything a fan of the program could ask for, along with plenty of surprises in store for slots veterans.

    A Slot About Nothing

The Seinfeld slot machine is presented in Scientific Games’ breathtaking Gamescape cabinet, which features a widescreen view that can house four sets of video slots reels at once. While there are tons of different features, the basic gameplay is what you’d expect: players make matches across the reels – with each five-reel area themed after a different character.

That means you’ll see everything from the Urban Sombrero in Elaine’s corner to the beloved black and white cookie on Jerry’s. There’ an overloaded wallet on the George section, while you’ll see plenty of coffee table books (about coffee tables, which turn into coffee tables) over on Kramer’s reels. It’s an awesome touch that really shows how much the designers thought about what they could do to make this appeal to true fans who remember every little detail of the series.

Not surprisingly, the main characters can also provide additional random bonuses throughout gameplay. For instance, Jerry can pepper the reels with numerous wilds, while George can give you added multipliers that apply across the game.

No Soup for You, But Plenty of Winnings

There’s more thematic fun in store when you get to the various bonus rounds that are found on this machine. As you’d expect, the bonus rounds here come directly from the show, and are designed to bring you back to some of the most famous moments and events in Seinfeld history.

First, there’s the Festivus round, in which players can take part in the feats of the strength before being taken to a mechanical wheel above the display (highlighted by the screaming image of Frank Costanza) where they can potentially win as much as 1,000 times their spin bet.

And who can forget the infamous Soup Nazi? He’s back in a special feature where you’ll get to enjoy his soups coming down the line one at a time to award you bonus credits, as the chef himself calls them out from the video board above the main screen. Occasionlly, you’ll have the chance to win even more on a wheel game, unless you land on the “No Soup for You!” result, in which case the bonus round ends immediately.

The game also uses motion gesture technology, which allows players to interact with the machine a bit. For instance, in the Festivus game, they are asked to shake the Festivus pole before going to the wheel – though this part can be skipped if you like. The game also supports large networked progressive jackpots, offering you even more ways to win.

    Serenity Now

Expected to hit casino floors in early 2017, the Seinfeld slot machine is definitely one of the top new games we’re excited about from G2E 2016. There’s no doubt that this is one of the most popular television franchises of all time, and the developers seem to have done an amazing job of capturing everything about the humor, characters, and situations that made Seinfeld such a huge hit. Even if you’re not someone who generally loves slots, we think every fan of the television series will want to give this machine a try, if for no other reason than to relive all of the hilarious moments from the history of the series – along with the chance to walk away with some cash in the process.
